Kubota has recently changed the deck design on their ZD21 & ZD28 ZTR mowers from a stamped deck to a welded deck. Does anyone know if the new welded deck mows better than the stamped deck??? Where is Art? He would know!!
Any info would be appreciated!!

I think it is the gauge of steel being used- I believe the high end deck is called the Pro Deck. ....

i bought a 28 last year.i use it to mow smaller fields and my yard.i got to say IT'S A KEEPER.the kubota dealer says the new deck is for the commercial mowers.the stamp deck does an excellent job but the welded deck will take more abuse.you know like bouncing off trees, houses, key stone walls, ect, ect.you get my drift.we,ve alway had front runners in the past.the only thing i miss is the 4wd.good luck ....

Unfortunatly, I can't help that much as the new decks are just being delivered. The main reason for the added metal in the decks is for working in the south with the sand. I don't know that the wind under the deck would be any better from one to the other. As with most all Kubota decks They also use the double pulley system and a double V belt for longevity and performance. ....
